Once upon a Tyne Productions were initially set up in 1999 by filmmaker Andy Wilton. The company began by making short films and corporate work for clients such as ASDA and BBC Newcastle.

Andy named the company "Once upon a Tyne", after the river Tyne that runs through the heart of Tyneside. Andy strongly believes in the region, and the people and businesses within it and wanted to reflect this within the business.

Once upon a Tyne Productions take great pride in the range of work it has produced (from website videos, training films, to DVDs, music videos and viral marketing films). Our staff have successfully delivered hundreds of films for clients including Orange, Nike, ASDA, Mitre, BBC, Newcastle United and the V&A Museum.

Once upon a Tyne are based in the North East of England, mainly operating from their Northumberland base across Tyneside. They have however produced work for clients all over Europe.

As well as producing excellent content, the company actively supports future filmmakers. We bring in promising individuals on work experience and our staff go into local schools and universities to give talks and workshops on filmmaking.

Andy Wilton

Lead Director/Producer Andy Wilton takes the reigns on the majority of projects. Andy takes great delight in making excellent films with "Once upon a Tyne" that exceed a client's brief, within their budget.
